Below, you'll find my thoughts on Reiki from years ago. Since then, much has evolved—my abilities have expanded significantly. To be transparent, any session you book will naturally incorporate Reiki energy, as it seamlessly intertwines with all forms of healing.

How does Reiki work? What will I experience?
"Reiki consists of two Japanese words: Rei and Ki. Rei means universal and Ki, also referred to as Chi, means vital energy. So, Reiki means vital energy from the universe. In general, Reiki is a technique of channelling universal vital energy to oneself and other.
Reiki is not something magical. The basic principle on how Reiki energy heals is very similar to how healing works in acupuncture. We know that every living being has energy within and around the body to be alive. This energy is called Chi (vital energy) or Ki and it is vital for the physical body to exist. The physical body usually has problems because the energy does not flow properly. By stimulating the energy to flow properly, the natural ability of the body to heal itself functions again, and the body will recover."
"Reiki healing stimulates the energy to flow properly and cleanse the energy within and around the body to speed up the healing process. In the Kirlian photos below, you can see the energy around the fingertip of a patient before and after Reiki healing. Kirlian photos are not simulation photos like aura photos. Brenda's explanation of Reiki (based on years of experience with clients)
The energy that flows is not my energy (the client does not get the practitioners energy). Once I connect to Source/universal vital energy, the flow of energy is warm, fast, it feels intelligent, like liquid Love. Some resources have stated it is quicker than light, electromagnetic energy. As it flows into the top of my head, I can sense the heat and Love it carries. As it flows into my head, it then pours out of my hands. The hands are the point of transfer to the client. This energy is 100% Love and Light, it is intelligent and knows what the client needs. I act as a conduit and allow for this energy to do it work. My sense is this energy replaces negative lower energies, and it knows what the client requires. The majority of the negative energy leaves the body by the client's feet. The negative energy then transmutes/changes into neutral energy; therefore, it does not affect anyone; not the client, not me; or the space used for the session.
It works the same if I place my hand over the client's body, or if I am lightly touching the client. Clients have the choice of hands-on or hands-off; both are just as effective.
It is vital for a client to drink water before and after a session, as the energy uses water to move, and you will become thirsty.
The benefits are unique to each individual; I can not say what will happen in each case. In general, I can say many clients experience a great sense of relaxation and calmness. Many have reported feeling; heat, tingling sensation, mild electric current, pressure, and floating sensation/lightness. Some clients see colours or have had other positive experiences. In some cases, the sense of Love may be such overwhelming clients may be overcome with emotion; if this happens, just let it happens and enjoy the experience. A client's experiences may be very different during each session.
Whatever your experience, the session is working, try your best to relax and enjoy. It is sometimes hard for clients new to energy work to relax, that is why I suggest the "Welcome Package." This package gives you extra time to get comfortable with me and ask any questions before the session begins.
At the end of the session, some clients wish to talk about their experience, and others want to leave and enjoy the ZEN experience. Brenda is always available for a quick chat or text to answer any questions a client may have after a session.

The client relaxes with eyes closed. In most cases no conversation takes place, as we allow the client to fully relax and unwind during the session.

Is Reiki safe?
Yes. Reiki allows all healing to be done by the Divine Source, True Source, our Beloved Creator. In Reiki the blessing of the Divine Source is the mightiest power. Allowing the blessing work, you will gain unlimited benefits.
How many sessions are needed?
It really depends on what the issue you are experiencing.
For those who are using Reiki to help relax and feel increased wellbeing, one session may be enough, others come monthly.
If a client is suffering with an illness, a weekly session would be more beneficial, but one session is better then none. Each session builds on the next session, so the more sessions, the more improvement over time.

The Canadian Reiki Association, is a federally chartered and governed non-profit association, was founded in 1997 to register and represent all professional Canadian practitioners and or teachers of all styles of Reiki.
